C.A. Landers, rider of Fly Round The Bend trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped and was pulled up.

The Stewards requested a report from Henry de Bromhead, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Solatentif (FR), placed second, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last start in Galway when unable to go the pace. He added that today's step up in trip helped his charge travel better and return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

B.J. Geraghty, rider of Shanpallas, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered and was pulled up.

M.P. Fogarty, rider of The Job Is Right (GB) trained by Michael Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered and was pulled up.
